Huff will be in uniform for Saturday’s game in Seattle
Seattle, Wash. — The Texas Rangers today announced the following roster moves prior to Saturday’s game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park:
- Catcher Jonah Heim placed on the MLB Paternity League List.
- Catcher Sam Huff (#55) recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
Heim can remain on the Paternity League List for a maximum of 72 hours. He is batting .234 with 6 home runs and 31 RBI in 61 games for Texas this season, making a team-high 53 starts at catcher.
Huff played one game with Texas during his lone stint with the club from April 20-21, entering as a defensive replacement on April 20 at Atlanta. He has spent the balance of the season at Triple-A, batting .244/.333/.428/.761 (44-180) with 7 home runs and 32 RBI over 49 games for the Express.
Huff has seen Major League action in four different seasons (2020, 2022-24), compiling a career .262/.314/.462/.776 (51-195) slash line with 10 home runs, 9 doubles, and 20 RBI in 76 games (all with Texas).
With today’s transactions, Texas has a has a full 40-man Major League roster, along with eight players on the 60-day Injured List: Cody Bradford, Carson Coleman, Jacob deGrom, Justin Foscue, Josh Jung, Tyler Mahle, Austin Pruitt, Max Scherzer.
