COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 have signed midfielder Adrián González for the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. The 20-year-old joins the Black & Gold after most recently competing with LA Galaxy II.

“Adrián performed at a high level for LA Galaxy II last year, and we are excited to help further develop this young player to reach his potential within our Club,” said Crew 2 General Manager Corey Wray. “He is a talented player with many years of experience under his belt in the professional environment and he is coming off a strong season with LA Galaxy II. We look forward to seeing Adrián establish himself within the team with the contributions he will add to our attack and defense in the midfield.”

González signed his first professional contract with LA Galaxy II on April 1, 2021, at the age of 17. He made his professional debut on Aug. 30, 2020, logging 18 minutes in a 4-3 win over Las Vegas Lights FC. With LA Galaxy II from 2020-2022, González amassed 611 minutes in 57 USL Championship appearances with three assists. In 2023, Los Dos joined MLS NEXT Pro, and González played in 26 matches (25 starts), registering 2,152 minutes, two goals and a team-best six assists.

The Santa Rosa, Calif. native joined the LA Galaxy Academy in 2019, where he made eight appearances and scored one goal for the LA Galaxy Under-16/17 and Under-18/19 squads.

Internationally, González made his debut with the Mexico U-16 squad on April 18, 2019, at 15 years old. He has competed with Mexico at the U-16, U-17, U-18, and U-20 age levels and across all age groups, he has earned eight caps and scored one goal for Mexico.

González began his youth career competing with his hometown side, Atlético Santa Rosa Soccer Club. He signed with Liga MX Club C.F. Pachuca’s Academy in 2018, prior to joining the Galaxy Academy.

Crew 2 begin the MLS NEXT Pro season at home against New York Red Bulls II at Lower.com Field on Sunday, March 17 at 3 p.m. ET. The full season schedule can be found here.
