The short story: Sophomore guard Bones Hyland scored all 21 of his points in the second half to aid VCU’s comeback effort, but the Rams were unable to overcome top-seeded St. Bonaventure Sunday in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship Game.
OPENING TIP
- Hyland connected on 11-of-12 free throws and added six rebounds
- Junior forward Vince Williams added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Rams
- Freshman Josh Banks came off the bench to drop 10 points for the Black and Golf
- Kyle Lofton led all players with 23 points for St. Bonaventure

- St. Bonaventure held VCU to 41 percent (22-of-54) shooting in the game, including 6-of-18 from 3-point range
- The Bonnies owned a 42-32 advantage on the glass and turned 13 offensive boards into 17 second-chance points
