The Pittsburgh Pirates during the current offseason signed first baseman Rowdy Tellez to a one-year contract for the 2024
season.

Tellez hit .215 (67-for-311) with nine doubles, one triple, 13 home runs and 47 RBI in 106 games
during the 2023 season with Milwaukee.

The 28-year-old Tellez led the Brewers while also finishing tied for the fifth-most home runs (35) in the National League in 2022. Tellez also posted a .998 fielding percentage at first base with Milwaukee in 2022, which was the highest in a single season in club history among players with at least 100 games at that position.

Tellez made his big league debut in 2018 with Toronto after being selected by the Blue Jays in the 30th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

He has a career average of .233 (393-for-1690) with 79 doubles, three triples, 92 home runs and 263
RBI in 534 games between Toronto (2018-21) and Milwaukee (2021-23).

Right-handed pitcher Roddery Muñoz has been designated for assignment to make room for Tellez
on the 40-man roster.
