DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team’s second half comeback push fell just short on Thursday night as the Raiders fell 88-81 to visiting Green Bay in Horizon League action.

Wright State (9-10, 4-4 Horizon) now turns its attention to a Saturday night contest against Milwaukee, who also lost on Thursday night. Saturday’s game will be a 7 p.m. tipoff inside the Nutter Center.

On Thursday, Green Bay (12-8, 7-2 Horizon) led by 10 at the break and the margin was still in double figures with 10 minutes to play in the second half before the Raiders began a methodical push. Over a seven-and-a-half-minute stretch, Wright State nearly doubled up Green Bay in the scoring column, outscoring the visitors 27-15 as the Raiders were 11-of-15 from the floor during the stretch while forcing Green Bay into three turnovers to cut the margin to just four at 80-76 with 2:32 to play. The visitors responded with four of the next six points to push their lead back out and hold off the would-be Raider comeback attempt.

Brandon Noel tallied his fifth double-double of the season, and second in the last three contests, with a 17-point, 12-rebound effort, adding three assists, a steal and a block. Trey Calvin notched a team-high 19 points as five Raiders finished with double figures scoring in the loss. Drey Carter chipped in 11 points off the bench for the third double figure night of his career, while AJ Braun and Alex Huibregtse both finished with 10 points.

Wright State finished the night shooting 49 percent from the floor (33-of-67) and was 25 percent (5-of-20) form the three-point line, while passing out 15 assists on the 33 made baskets. Green Bay connected at 54 percent overall (31-of-57) and was 15-of-28 (54 percent) from three-point range. The Raiders finished with just five turnovers while forcing Green Bay into 10 giveaways, turning those in to 18 points, while Wright State notched 48 points in the paint and had a 12-3 edge in second-chance points.

Noah Reynolds led four Green Bay players in double digit scoring with 30 points.
