DAYTON, Ohio – For the first time since 2014-15, the Green Bay men’s basketball team has beaten Wright State on the road and swept the season series. GB took the game 88-81 and moved to 12-8 overall on the year and 7-2 in the Horizon League, tied with Oakland for the top spot in the league standings.

The Phoenix was led by a 30-point, eight rebound, eight assist performance from Noah Reynolds. It’s the second straight game Reynolds has scored 30+ points and fourth time this season. Green Bay also had career-high contributions from Preston Ruedinger, with 18 points, and Foster Wonders, with 17 points. Freshman Marcus Hall also matched a career-high 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three.

Green Bay shot the lights out from deep, matching a season-high 15 made threes on just 28 attempts (53.6 percent). That is tied for the second-most made threes in program history.

Wright State was led by 19 points from Trey Calvin and 17 points and 12 rebounds from Brandon Noel.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 10-4, Green Bay responded in a big way with an 11-0 run that turned into a 17-4 run after a Reynolds jumper with 9:48 to go in the first half to give GB a 21-14 lead. The Raiders responded with a 7-0 run to tie it after a Andrew Welage three made it 21-21, but the Phoenix defense tightened back up down the stretch and outscored Wright State 18-8 in the final seven minutes of the half. Green Bay knocked down eight shots from deep to account for 24 of its 39 points.

GB continued to expand the lead with three point shooting, eventually taking a 54-37 lead after a Marcus Hall three with 14:38 to go. Wright State didn’t go away, however, and battled back to cut the Phoenix lead to four with just over two and a half minutes to go. Good free throw shooting and a dagger jumper from Reynolds sealed the win for Green Bay, 88-81.
