NEW YORK — Jan. 15, 2024 — The NFL announced today that sixteen-year-old Brandon Torquato from Las Vegas will be this year’s NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid. Every year, the Super Kid serves as the official NFL PLAY 60 Ambassador during Super Bowl Week, participating in a variety of community events and behind-the-scenes opportunities culminating in an on-field recognition during the second half of the Super Bowl.
Brandon’s dedication to living an active and healthy lifestyle is demonstrated through his ongoing participation in youth sports, including as a Special Olympics, Inc. (“Special Olympics”) athlete with Special Olympics Nevada (“SONV”), a state Program of Special Olympics. Brandon is part of SONV’s Special Olympics Unified Sports® flag football team. Unified Sports® provides opportunities for people with and without intellectual disabilities to play on the same team.
Throughout the year, the NFL and Special Olympics team up to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to PLAY 60 through the expansion of Unified flag football. NFL Foundation grants fund Unified Sports®, including Unified flag football, which has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sports in Special Olympics across the country.
In addition to his responsibilities as the NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid, Brandon will also serve as ABC Good Morning America’s Kid Correspondent throughout the week leading up to Super Bowl LVIII. As Good Morning America’s Kid Correspondent, Brandon will attend a variety of Super Bowl events, including NFL Honors and Super Bowl Experience, where he will have the opportunity to interview NFL players and legends.
Earlier this morning, Will Reeve of Good Morning America was joined by Las Vegas Raiders punter AJ Cole to surprise Brandon with the news of his selection as this year’s NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid and Good Morning America’s Kid Correspondent at Super Bowl LVIII.
