BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets improved to 3-1-0 in their last four home contests and 4-2-0 in their last six games overall following tonight’s 4-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.
  • CBJ have recorded points in 11 of the last 14 meetings vs. Ottawa dating back to Mar. 17, 2018 (9-3-2).
  • The Blue Jackets converted on both of their power play chances tonight and have now scored a power play goal in four of the last five games of the series (5-of-11, 45.5 pct.).
  • It marked the 10th time in franchise history that the Blue Jackets were 100 percent on the power play in a game with multiple attempts (all 2-for-2; MR: Nov. 20, 2022 vs. Florida).
  • The club killed off four-of-five Senators’ power play opportunities tonight and has killed off 36-of-41 Ottawa power play chances over the last 17 games dating back to Mar. 4, 2017 (87.8 pct.)
  • The Blue Jackets have killed off 14-of-15 opponent power play chances over the last six contests (93.3 pct.) and have killed off 54-of-59 over the last 21 games dating back to Oct. 20 (91.5 pct.).  Columbus allowed a power play goal tonight for just the third time in the past 18 games, killing off 42-of-45 opponent power play chances (93.3 pct.).
  • Columbus blocked 17 shots tonight and has been credited with 265 blocked shots over the past 14 contests and 474 in 25 games this season.
  • CBJ blueliners posted 0-3-3 tonight and have now combined for 5-18-23 over the past nine contests and 10-50-60 in 25 games this season.
  • With both C Adam Fantilli and LW Dmitri Voronkov scoring a goal tonight, CBJ rookies have now posted 11-16-27 in 25 games this season.
  • The Blue Jackets earned their first multi-goal comeback win of the season and first since March 21, 2023 at Washington. It also marked the club’s first multi-goal comeback win in regulation since Feb. 11, 2023 at Toronto.
  • CBJ scored two goals in the first period tonight and now have 28 first period goals this season.
  • The Blue Jackets scored four straight times to take a 4-2 lead against the Senators.  The last time the club scored more unanswered goals in the same game was Jan. 13, 2022 (6).
  • Columbus played their third of eight Friday games, improving to 3-0-0 on the day.

 

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES­

  • Zach Werenski tallied his second multi-assist and third multi-point effort of the season with two assists to give him helpers in two-straight games (0-3-3) and 0-7-7 in his past six contests (overall, 1-17-18 in 23 GP).  It marks his 25th career multi-assist game, which is the second most by a Blue Jackets defenseman and trailing only Seth Jones (27).  Werenski improved to 4-10-14 in 13 career games vs. Ottawa, including assists in his last five games (0-7-7) and 2-8-10 in his past eight appearances against the club as well as points in each of his last five outings at Nationwide Arena (2-5-7).
  • LW Johnny Gaudreau recorded his second multi-assist and third multi-point contest of the campaign with 0-2-2 to give him points in five of his last eight contests (2-5-7; overall, 3-10-13 in 25 GP).  He improved to 6-19-25 in 27 career games vs. Ottawa, including 3-9-12 in his past 12 appearances against the club overall and assists in each of his last five home games (1-8-9) and points in his past eight home contests (2-10-12).
  • LW Dmitri Voronkov scored his fifth goal of the season to extend his points streak to three-straight games (2-1-3).  He now has points in 12 of his first 19 NHL games (5-7-12).
  • LW Patrik Laine scored a goal in his second consecutive game to extend his points streak to three-straight outings (2-1-3; overall, 5-2-7 in 15 GP).  He now has 6-8-14 in 13 career games vs. the Senators with three multi-points in his last seven meetings (5-4-9).
  • Boone Jenner scored his team-leading 12th goal of the campaign and has now registered points in six of his last eight games (5-3-8; overall, 12-5-17 in 25 GP).  He improved to 6-4-10 in 21 career games vs. Ottawa, including 3-3-6 with points in five of his past seven contests.
  • Adam Fantilli scored his fifth goal of the season to give him 5-6-11 in 25 appearances.
  • Ivan Provorov tallied his 13th assist of the campaign and has collected 1-2-3 in his last six games (2-13-15 in 25 GP).
  • RW Justin Danforth registered his fifth assist of the season giving him 3-3-6 in his last 11 games (overall, 6-5-11 in 25 GP).
