CINCINNATI – Junior running back Corey Kiner eclipsed 1,000 yards for the season, but the Cincinnati football team fell to Kansas, 49-16, in the regular season finale.

Kiner tallied 106 yards on 18 carries for his sixth 100-yard game of the season, which tied for the fifth-most in a single season in school history. The Cincinnati native finished the season with 1,047 yards to mark the 20th 1,000-yard rushing season in school history. In the process he became the 13th different Bearcat to rush for 1,000 yards and the first Cincinnati native to reach the mark since Richard Hall in 2004.

Kiner and the entire starting offensive line all have at least one year of eligibility remaining and are expected to return next season, giving the Bearcats a foundation to build on, despite the disappointing season.
