Toledo cracks Top 25 for first time since 2015

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo moved into the Top 25 in the latest Associated Press college football poll released on Sunday, Nov. 19. The Rockets are No. 23 in the nation with 118 total points. They are the third-highest ranked “Group of Five” team behind Tulane (No. 18) and Liberty (No. 22). Toledo and Liberty played in last year’s Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl, with the Rockets coming out on top, 21-19.

This is the first time Toledo has cracked the Top 25 since Nov. 22, 2015, when it was No. 24 in the AP poll. Toledo’s highest ranking that season was No. 19. Its highest all-time ranking is at No. 12 in the final AP poll in 1970.

Toledo (10-1, 7-0 MAC) has clinched its second consecutive Mid-American Conference West Division title. The defending MAC Champion Rockets will play Miami in the 2023 MAC Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 2. Tickets may be ordered online now at UTRockets.com/MACTix.

Toledo’s final regular season game is at Central Michigan (5-6, 3-4 MAC) on Friday, Nov. 24 (Noon/ESPNU).
