ATHENS, Ohio — The Ohio men’s basketball team (6-5) returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 21 when they head to Newark, Del. for a matchup with Delaware (8-4). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Bob Carpenter Center. The Bobcats matchup will be seen on FLOHoops.com.
The Bobcats’ matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield. Russ Eisenstein returns for his 15th season as the “Voice of the Bobcats” and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornlius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network’s flagship.
STORYLINES
• Ohio is coming off an 85-66 win over Stetson in the Convo on Dec. 17.
• This is the fifth all-time meeting between Ohio and Delaware.
• Ohio leads the all-time series, 3-1.
• The Bobcats and the Blue Hens met on Nov. 13, 2010 in the season opener, with Ohio defeating them, 88-69 in Athens.
• Ohio is 1-0 all-time against Delaware in Newark, with Ohio picking up the 86-70 victory on Dec. 12, 2009.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
Delaware enters the matchup with Ohio with an 8-4 record and is coming off a 60-59 win against Rider Monday night.
Overall, Stetson averages 71.2 points a game, while shooting .451 from the field, .316 from three and .703 from the line. The Blue Hens also average 34.2 rebounds a game, 12.3 assists and 6.5 steals a game. Delaware also forces 12.4 turnovers a game.
Meanwhile, Opponents average 68.9 points and 35.3 rebounds a game. Opponents also shoot .444 from the field, .359 from three and .679 from the line. Opponents also dish out 14.4 assists and grab 6.0 steals a game, while also forcing 10.9 turnovers a game.
Individually, Jameer Nelson, Jr. averages 19.8 points per game, while shooting .470 from the field and .729 from the line. Jyare Davis adds 16.9 points and 5.0 rebounds a game, while shooting .474 from the field, while LJ Owens averages 10.8 points a game. Christian Ray adds 9.8 rebounds a game.
SCOUTING OHIO
Ohio enters the matchup with Delaware with a 6-5 record after defeating Stetson, 85-66 on Dec. 17 inside the Convocation Center.
As a team, Ohio is averaging 76.0 points and 38.9 rebounds a game, while opponents average 70.6 points and 34.5 rebounds a game. The Bobcats are also shooting .460 from the field, .357 from three and .675 from the line. Ohio also adds 14.4 assists, 6.7 steals and force 12.4 turnovers a game.
Opponents are shooting .426 from the field, .364 from three and .665 from the line, while dishing out 13.0 assists, 6.6 steals and 12.1 turnovers a game.
Individually, Dwight Wilson III leads Ohio with 13.3 points a game, while shooting .564 from the field, while also averaging 9.0 rebounds a game. AJ Brown adds 11.3 points and is shooting .556 from the field, while Miles Brown averages 9.7 points and Jaylin Hunter adds 9.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.
ALL TIME VS. DELAWARE

LAST TIME AGAINST DELAWARE
The Bobcats and the Blue Hens met on Nov. 13, 2010 in the season opener, with Ohio defeating them, 88-69 in Athens.
DJ Cooper finished with a game-high 25 points, on 10 of 17 shooting, seven assists and five rebounds while Reggie Keely had a career-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for Ohio. Ivo Baltic was the third player in double-figures, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds.
After shooting only 37 percent from the field (13 of 35) over the first 20 minutes, Ohio shot 56 percent in the second half (22 of 39), breaking free for 53 points.
The Bobcats scored 24 points off of 19 Blue Hens turnovers and held a 16-4 advantage in second-chance points. Adetunji Adedipe had a career-high seven rebounds for Ohio, which held a 47-34 advantage on the boards. Keely and Baltic helped Ohio dominate the inside during the second half, scoring 28 points in the paint and holding a double-digit advantage over the visitors.
Devon Saddler led Delaware with 19 points and seven assists while Jamelle Hagins added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Preseason All-CAA pick Jawan Carter struggled, shooting only 2 of 9 and finishing with six points and six turnovers.
LAST TIME OUT
The Ohio men’s basketball team (6-5) returned to Athens on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 17), defeating Stetson (5-5), 85-66, inside the Convocation Center.
Overall, Ohio shot 50.7 percent from the field, 42.1 percent from three and were 9-of-12 from the line, while Stetson shot 36.7 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three and were 12-of-16 from the line. Stetson outrebounded Ohio, 39-37, but Ohio registered nine steals and dished out 16 assists. The Bobcats also forced 17 turnovers and scored 29 points off them.
Individually, Dwight Wilson III led Ohio with 20 points and five rebounds, while AJ Brown scored 13 points in his first career start. DeVon Baker added 12 points, followed by Miles Brown with 11 points. Gabe Wiznitzer scored 10 points and grabbed nine boards, while Jaylin Hunter added seven points and seven rebounds.
For Stetson, Jalen Blackmon led with 21 points, while Josh Smith added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
AJ BROWN MAKES A STATEMENT
Freshman guard AJ Brown showed the type of talent Ohio could see over the next four years against UC Clermont, where he scored a game-high 18 points, went 7-of-11 from the field and dished out four assists in the victory.
As AJ Brown continues to see more minutes, he continues to get more comfortable, with a stellar game on Dec. 11 at Youngstown State where he scored 16 points, while going 6-of-8 from the field.
He was also stellar off the bench against Florida, scoring a team-high 14 points in 24 minutes.
Brown made his first career start on Dec. 17 against Stetson, scoring 13 points, grabbed four rebounds and drained three 3 pointers.
So far this season, Brown is averaging 11.3 points a game and is shooting .556 from the field.
HUNTER FINDING A GROOVE
Eleven games into his Bobcat career, junior guard Jaylin Hunter started to find his groove in the Green and White.
On Dec. 11 at Youngstown State, Hunter led the Bobcats with 17 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the victory.
Hunter led Ohio against Cleveland State, scoring 17 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out seven assists in the victory.
As of Dec. 16, Hunter averages 9.5 points and 4.5 assists a game.
BROWN SETTING UP FOR CAREER YEAR
Senior guard Miles Brown is already on pace to set new marks in his fourth season in the Green and White.
After a solid game at Belmont, Brown was clutch against Cleveland State, scoring 14 points and going a perfect 6-of-6 from the line in the victory.
Brown was also solid against No. 20 Michigan, scoring 11 points and grabbing a season-hight nine rebounds.
He was back in action during the Bobcat battle where he averaged 16.0 points and set and matched a career-high four made threes before being named the tournament MVP.
So far on the early season, Brown averages 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds a game, while shooting .452 from three, .443 from the field and .818 from the line.
WELCOME BACK DJ
In his return to the court after missing all of last season due to a knee injury, Dwight Wilson III put on a show.
Wilson III finished the game with a game-high 20 points, going 8-of-10 from the field and 4of-4 from the line. He also grabbed eight rebounds in 24 minutes of action.
He then put on a show at No. 20 Michigan, scoring 21 points and grabbing nine boards.
Wilson III was the hero on Dec. 11 at YSU, hitting the buzzer beater to give Ohio the victory. In that game, he scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Wilson III recorded another 20-point performance on Dec. 17 against Stetson, scoring 20 points, while going 8-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line.
Wilson III has continued to dominate during the early part of the season, averaging 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds a game, while shooting .564 from the field.
BROD’S NEW ROLE
After starting every game last season, senior Ben Roderick is fitting in with his new role off the bench.
This season, Roderick averages 5.7 points, while shooting .426 from the field and .448 from three, while also recording a .833 shooting percentage from the line in just 15.5 minutes a game.
BAKER STARTING TO COOK
Senior guard DeVon Baker has continued to get into the flow of the Green and White.
After opening the season with a 16-point performance at Belmont, Baker seemed to get on track again at YSU on Dec. 11, scoring 15 points.
Despite dropping out of the starting lineup, Baker was a playmaker against Stetson on Dec. 17, scoring 12 points, going 5-of-8 from the field, 1-of-1 from three in 18 minutes.
CAREER DAY FOR GABE
Junior Gabe Wiznitzer made his first career start on Nov. 27 against Alabama State, scoring a career-high eight points and grabbing a career-high eight rebounds in the victory.
Wiznitzer almost doubled his career high on Dec. 3, scoring 15 points at Marshall.
Wiznitzer hit another career mark on Dec. 17 against Stetson, grabbing nine rebounds in the victory.
