Regular season an even split of home/away games; Off week set for Sept. 30
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced today the 2023 football schedules for each of the 14 member institutions. The Big Ten’s Administrators Council, which includes the Directors of Athletics and Senior Women Administrators from all 14 member institutions, approved any revisions that were made as a continuing result of changes made to the 2020 schedules because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ohio State will play an even split of six home and six away games in 2023, beginning with a Big Ten game at Indiana to open the season on Sept. 2.
Ohio State will make a total of three visits to the state of Indiana in 2023. In addition to the opener at IU, the team will play at Notre Dame Sept. 23 and three weeks later play at Purdue, on Oct. 14.
Along with Notre Dame, non-conference games will also be played against Youngstown State (Sept. 9) and Western Kentucky (Sept. 16).
The Ohio Stadium home schedule features Big Ten games against Maryland (Oct. 7), Penn State (Oct. 21), Michigan State (Nov. 11) and Minnesota (Nov. 18). And, in addition to the games at Indiana and Purdue, Big Ten road games will be played at Wisconsin (Oct. 28), Rutgers (Nov. 4) and Michigan (Nov. 25).
The 2023 football season will be the initial season with the Big Ten’s recently announced media rights partners: CBS, FOX, NBC, Peacock and BTN.
