NEW YORK (Sept. 28, 2022) – Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Jeff Petry has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for roughing Detroit Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren during NHL Preseason Game No. 22 in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Sept. 27, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 5:46 of the second period. Petry was assessed a minor penalty for roughing.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
