Brad Larsen was named the Blue Jackets eighth head coach last June. He had previously spent 7 seasons as an assistant coach with the franchise.
A former hockey player, the 45-year-old Larsen, has instilled new life, new ideas and a calming effect on this young team. He is volatile as former head coach John Tortorella.
The Jackets started strong early, slumped in the middle, but is playing well lately. They are 28-26-3 for 59 points. Team is 8 points out of a playoff spot in the NHL’s Eastern Conference.
