COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS, M3S SPORTS HOST THE 5th LINE 5K RACE, PRESENTED BY OHIOHEALTH, ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26

Downtown road race for runners and walkers returns for 7th year.

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Columbus-based M3S Sports are teaming up to host The 5th Line 5K Race presented by OhioHealth in association with Athletic Brewing Co., mike’s Hard Lemonade, COTA, and Planet Fitness. The annual 5K will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022.The downtown road race offers runners and walkers an active way to celebrate the winter season with the Blue Jackets.

The 5th Line 5K Race begins at 10 a.m. outside of Nationwide Arena and takes participants on a 3.1-mile tour of downtown Columbus and the Arena District before finishing inside Nationwide Arena on center ice. Registration is open until 9 a.m. on the day of the race.  Participants may register in advance by visiting www.The5thLine5K.com.

“The 5th Line 5K continues to be a celebration for our fans and community to come together. We are excited to see union blue fill downtown Columbus and end on ‘center ice’ in our home at Nationwide Arena,” said Vice President of Marketing, Ryan Chenault.

Participants will receive a voucher for two tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets game, official finisher’s medal, race shirt, and access to a Post-Race Party.

The Post-Race Party will include music, games, photo opportunities, food, beverages, and more. For fans 21 and over, tastings will be provided by mike’s Hard Lemonade and Athletic Brewing Co.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 7th Annual 5th Line 5k”, said David Babner, Race Director for M3S Sports.  “This has become a winter tradition in Columbus and we can’t wait to celebrate all of the participants and hockey fans again on February 26.”

The Blue Line Team Store at Nationwide Arena will open on Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m. for fans wanting to gear up for the race.

Spectators can cheer on the runners inside of Nationwide Arena starting at 9 a.m.

The Blue Jackets return to action tomorrow night when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at Nationwide Arena.  Game time from is 7 p.m. ET.  Live coverage on Bally Sports Ohio begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.  The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan, and online at BlueJackets.com.
