#2 Buckeyes can never get untracked in snow, cold weather at Ann Arbor in 42-27 loss; Michigan breaks 8-game losing streak

QB C.J. Stroud hoped fans weren’t mad at him for the loss. Why would they be? He did his job, Going 34-49 for 394 yards and a pair of TDs.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 2 Ohio State (10-2, 8-1) fell 42-27 at No. 5 Michigan (11-1, 8-1) Saturday in a clash of Top 5 teams in Ann Arbor.

Two fourth-quarter touchdowns by freshman TreVeyon Henderson kept the Buckeyes within striking distance but the Wolverines answered each of Ohio State’s late scores with touchdowns to earn the victory.

The Buckeyes closed to within eight points (28-20) on a Henderson 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter to culminate a 17-play, 82-yard drive but the Wolverines countered with a 66-yard, nine-play scoring jaunt to build the Wolverine lead to 35-20.

Henderson finished the day with 74 yards rushing on 17 carries and a touchdown. He added 54 yards on five catches and the fourth quarter TD.

QB C.J. Stroud went 34-49 for 394 yards and a pair of TDs. All three Buckeye lead wide receivers turned in big days as well with Jaxon Smith-Njigba leading the way with 11 catches for 127 yards, while Garrett Wilson pulled in 10 grabs for 119 and TD. Chris Olave added 88 yards on seven receptions.
