Ohio State Football opponent Week 2: Tulsa Golden Hurricane seniors Paul, Player and Stokes named to Named to Senior Bowl Watch List

MOBILE, Ala. –– A trio of Tulsa football seniors – offensive tackle Chris Paul, defensive tackle Jaxon Player and receiver Keylon Stokes – have been named to The Reese’s Senior Bowl Preseason Watch List.
 
The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game and it annually serves as the first step in the NFL Draft Process. Last year’s game saw 106 total players drafted and 36 selected in the first three rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. The 106 players represented 41 -percent of the NFL Draft.
 
The 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl will be played on Feb. 5 and broadcast on the NFL Network.
 
Paul, a 6’4″ right tackle from Houston Texas, has started 28 contests in 32 career games played. He has started games throughout his career at right tackle, left guard and right guard. Paul was a second-team American Athletic Conference selection in 2020.  
 
Off the field, Paul is a member of the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee and the NCAA Committee to Promote Cultural Diversity and Equity (CPCDE). He also serves as the chairperson of The American’s SAAC executive board through the 2021-22 academic year and is the AAC’s representative to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
A 6’0″ senior defensive lineman from Waco, Texas, Player was a first-team American Athletic Conference selection last season. In nine games, Player registered 37 tackles, 9.5 TFLs for -26 yards, three sacks for -6 yards, five QB hurries and two blocked kicks.
 
He tallied a career-best 12 tackles and 4.5 stops for -12 yards at Navy, while earning the AAC Defensive Player of the Week award for his performance.
 
Player has played in 28 career games and has 17 starts, while totaling 83 career tackles, 17 TFLs for -39 yards, three sacks for -6 yards, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery from his interior defensive front position. Player has also blocked four kicks in his career, including three field goals and one PAT.
 
Stokes is a 5’10” receiver and return specialist from Manvel, Texas, who has led the Golden Hurricane in each of the last three seasons for receiving yards. Last year, he had a team-high 644 yards and three touchdowns on 46 receptions, while earning second-team all-conference accolades. A year earlier, Stokes had a team-leading 1,040 yards and six touchdowns on 62 receptions for a 16.9 average per catch.
 
In 42 career games, Stokes has caught 155 passes for 2,402 yards, 60 kickoff returns for 1,244 yards, 211 rushing yards and 99 punt return yards to rank third on the school’s career all-purpose yardage chart with 3,956 yards.
