Columbus Blue Jackets News: SELECT BROOKS BANDITS DEFENSEMAN CORSON CEULEMANS WITH THE 25TH OVERALL PICK AT THE 2021 NHL DRAFT

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Brooks Bandits defenseman Corson Ceulemans with the club’s third first round pick, 25th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced tonight.

Ceulemans, 18, recorded four goals and seven assists for 11 points with two power play goals and eight penalty minutes in eight games with the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in 2020-21.   He finished fourth on the club in points-per-game (1.4) and led team blueliners in points-per-game, ranked second in goals and third-T in points.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native tallied 9-37-46 with 96 penalty minutes in 57 career outings with the Bandits from 2018-21.  He finished second among team blueliners in assists and points with 5-30-35 in 44 games in 2019-20.  He also helped the Bandits claim their fifth league title in 2018-19 with 2-0-2 in three outings.

The 6-2, 198-pound blueliner is committed to play at the University of Wisconsin for the 2021-22 season.  He helped Canada win gold at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championships after leading defenseman at the tournament in assists and points (tied) with 1-7-8 in six outings.
