LAST REGULAR-SEASON MEETING
Columbus Crew and the Philadelphia Union last met on April 18 Opening Match for the 2021 MLS season at Historic Crew Stadium. The two sides played to a 0-0 draw. Goalkeeper Eloy Room made five saves as he recorded his first clean sheet of the regular-season and his third across all competitions. Midfielder Alex Matan made his Crew debut as an 88th minute substitute.
STREAKING AGAINST THE UNION
The Crew currently has a four-match unbeaten streak in regular-season action against the Union with a record of 3-0-1. Additionally, the Black & Gold have kept seven clean sheets in their last 10 matches against the Union dating back to the start of the 2017 season, posting a record of 5-2-3 over that span.
ZARDES’ STREAK CONTINUES
Gyasi Zardes has scored in each of his last two matches, having netted one goal against Toronto FC (May 29) before registering a brace against Chicago Fire FC (June 19).
ETIENNE JR. LOOKS TO CONTINUE RUN OF FORM
Derrick Etienne Jr. has recorded an assist in each of his last two matches, having provided a helper for Gyasi Zardes against Toronto FC (May 29) and again against Chicago Fire FC (June 19).
MOLINO MAKES MILESTONE START
Kevin Molino will be making his first start for the Black & Gold in tonight’s road contest.
FRASER STARTS FOR FIRST TIME AS MEMBER OF CREW
Liam Fraser made his first regular-season start for Columbus Crew in Saturday’s match against Chicago Fire FC. During the match, the Canadian international made two tackles and five clearances en route to helping the Crew secure a 2-0 victory. To date, Fraser has made three regular-season appearances (one start) for the Black & Gold since joining the Club on loan from Toronto FC on May 3, 2021.
