Defender Henry Kessler (United Sates) and forward Tajon Buchanan
(Canada) were rewarded for breakout 2020 campaigns with their first
international appearances at any age level during the Concacaf Men’s
Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Kessler started three of four games for the United States Under-23 Men’s
National Team. The Revolution’s first-round selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft earned his first ever call up for the U-23 MNT’s January Camp,
following a rookie season that saw him appear in all but one game.

Buchanan started all four of Canada’s games in the competition. His tournament was highlighted by a first-half brace in The Canucks’ opening
game against El Salvador. The third-year pro was a breakout performer in
last year’s MLS Cup Playoffs, when he started all four of New England’s
run to the Conference Final at right back. He began the 2021 campaign
with a start in the midfield against Chicago on April 17, registering an assist
on Bou’s equalizing goal.

Revolution II defender François Dulysse, New England’s second-round
pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, also participated in Concacaf Olympic
qualifying with the Haiti U-23 team. Dulysse started all three of the Haitians group stage matches.
