Three years ago Texas Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young coaxed Bruce Bochy out of retirement.

Young had a vision of a championship caliber team that the fans of Dallas and the Metroplex would be proud of. Management then goes out and brings in 4 players to help make the franchise championship caliber, Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi.

With that quartet, Bochy would lead the Rangers to the first World Series championship in franchise history in his first year with the club, 2023, and  the fourth title of his career. He won three with the San Francisco Giants, 2010, 2012 and 2014.

But in today’s sports world, it comes down to what have you done for me lately. So, Bochy and the Rangers have mutually agreed to end his managerial tenure. He has been offered a front-office role to remain with the team in an advisory role.

Bochy finished 249-237 in his three seasons with the Rangers, making the postseason once , with the World Series title. But sadly ends with a losing season in 2024 and an 81-81 year in ‘25.
