THE BASICS
The Bulldog football team will travel to Ohio for its final road contest of the 2025 season. Drake is set for a visit to Dayton with kickoff slated for 11 a.m. central time on Saturday, Nov. 15.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs dropped their first Pioneer Football League game of the season with a 20-13 home loss to St. Thomas. Drake showed positive signs but could not string enough together as the Tommies left snowy Des Moines with a pivotal PFL result.
WINNING WAYS
Drake football has been dominant in Pioneer Football League play over the last couple season. The Bulldogs have won 23 of their last 25 conference contests while posting records of 13-0 away from home and 11-2 in Des Moines during that stretch.
GIVETH AND TAKETH AWAY
The Bulldogs are first in the PFL when converting on third (44.3%) while the Drake defense also leads the conference in opponent fourth down rate with competing teams converting at just a 26.7 percent clip.
FRESHMAN PHENOM
Freshman running back Nick Herman is the best freshman back in the PFL this season. He is currently fifth in the league with 554 rushing yards on the season. Herman is averaging 61.6 yards per game, 6.2 yards per carry, and has scored four touchdowns on the ground.
SHUT ‘EM DOWN, SEAN
Senior linebacker Sean Allison, a preseason honoree on the Buck Buchanan Watch List, boasts the top tackling average in the PFL with 10.4 stops per game. He leads the conference with 92 total tackles and is the only defender averaging double-digit tackles this season.
BALKE’S THE BEST
Harry Balke has been one of the premier kickers in the PFL this season. He leads the league with 7.6 points per game, is one of three players with an 86+ percent success rate on field goals and has made two kicks of 50 or more yards.

SCOUTING DAYTON
Dayton enters this week a full game back of Drake in the PFL standings with an overall mark of 6-3 and PFL record of 4-2. The Flyers have lost two of their last three, including a 31-13 defeat at San Diego most recently, after ripping off five straight victories.
Dayton leads the all-time series with the Bulldogs by an 11-6 margin. Drake has lost the last three matchups in the series with the Bulldogs’ last win coming in 2018, which was also their last victory in Dayton.
Dayton is led by third-year head coach Trevor Andrews. A 1998 Dayton graduate, Andrews has led the Flyers to a 16-15 record during his tenure.
