Hilda Svensson recorded a four-point weekend in Buckeyes’ sweep of Colgate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman forward Hilda Svensson of the Ohio State women’s hockey team was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Svensson made her collegiate debut in the Buckeyes’ season opener at then-ranked No. 7 Colgate last weekend. She tied for the team lead with four points and two goals in the series sweep of the Raiders.
In her first career game, she assisted the first two goals of the game for her first career points. She finished the day with a team-high +3 on ice rating and was on the ice for four Buckeye goals in the 5-3 win.
The Oskarshamn, Sweden native went on to record her first career goals in game two, scoring the second and eighth goal of the team’s 9-4 win. She finished the day +3 and tied for the team lead with a +6 on the weekend.
Svensson’s first career goal was also her first power play goal. She led the team with two power play points with a goal and an assist.
