ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Carson Zurmehly (Batavia/McNicholas) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25-31.
This marks his second career OAC Player of the Week accolade.
The latest recognition comes after posting two shutouts in ONU’s first two games this season.
Zurmehly recorded three saves in a 1-0 win over Mary Washington (Va.) in their season opener on Friday night, then had three more saves in a 1-0 win over Randolph-Macon (Va.) on Sunday afternoon.
Zurmehly now has 25 career saves and a .806 career save percentage.
The Polar Bears (2-0-0 overall) return to action on Friday at Hope (Mich.) at 7 p.m.
