Duo combined for 128 receptions for 2,048 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Preseason honors continue to arrive for the Ohio State Buckeyes with superb sophomore Jeremiah Smith and talented junior Carnell Tate each being named today to the Biletnikoff Award watch list. The duo combined for 128 receptions for 2,048 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024.
Smith, who has now been honored 11 times by various organizations this preseason, smashed Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter’s Ohio State freshman records last year with 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns while earning Big Ten Conference Wide Receiver and Freshman of the Year honors along with being named a first-team All-America by USA Today.
Tate, who has been named a second- and third-team preseason All-American so far this preseason, hauled in 52 receptions for 733 yards and four touchdowns in 2024. He enters his true junior season in 2025 with 70 career receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns. He has caught a pass in all 28 games he has played in with a high of seven vs. Texas (for 87 yards) in the CFP semifinal at the Cotton Bowl.
