JGR’s Ty Gibbs wins NASCAR in-season tournament finale over Ty Dillon

Ty Gibbs of JGR wins NASCAR’s $1 Million In-Season Challenge Press Conference 7 27 2025

 

Ty Gibbs is the winner of the first NASCAR In-Season Tournament Challenge.

Gibbs beat Ty Dillon with a 21st-place finish in the 2025 Brickyard 400 Race on July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to win the in-season final.

Dillon suffered car damage on a restart in Stage 2 and fell a lap down, never being able to recover back to the lead lap. Dillon finished 28th, three laps down.

These are the drivers that Gibbs beat on the way to the $1-Million Dollars:

  • Defeated 27-seed Justin Haley at Atlanta
  • Beat 22-seed AJ Allmendinger at Chicago
  • Bested 14-seed Zane Smith at Sonoma
  • Got past 23-seed Tyler Reddick at Dover
  • Beat 32-seed Ty Dillon at Indianapolis
