DAYTON – Wright State head men’s basketball coach Clint Sargent has announced the addition of transfer TJ Burch to join the Raider program.

Burch, a 6-1 guard from Dallas, Texas, joins the Raiders after spending his freshman season at Ball State and he comes to Wright State after playing in 21 contests in his first collegiate campaign.

“We are excited to add TJ and his family to our program,” Sargent said. “TJ brings speed and athleticism to our backcourt and is someone we feel like can grow and develop in our system. He showed spurts of real impact his freshman year and we know he will make a big jump in his second year.”

Burch played in 21 games in 2024-25 for Ball State, averaging 9.5 minutes per contest as a freshman. He averaged 4.8 points per game while shooting 50.0 percent overall and 56.3 percent from three-point range and a trio of double-digit scoring games. He connected on a career-best 14 points against Indiana State in November and also had 13 points against Franklin in his first collegiate contest before ending the year with a 12-point effort at Miami (OH) in March. Burch recorded five or more points in 11 of his 21 games, shooting over 50 percent in 10 contests.

Burch played his final prep season at the Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes after beginning his prep career at Mansfield High School in Texas. He was named a First Team All-State performer as a sophomore and junior at Mansfield High School and then earned Southwest Athletic Interscholastic Conference Player of the Year honors as a senior. Burch averaged more than 20 points per game each of his final three years of high school, including 24.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 rebounds averages as a junior.

Burch becomes the fourth transfer addition to the Wright State roster, joining the signings of Bryan Etumnu, Dominic Pangonis and Sam Alamutu.
