DAYTON – Wright State head men’s basketball coach Clint Sargent has announced the addition of transfer Dominic Pangonis to join the Raider program.

Pangonis (pronounced pan-go-niss), a 6-7 guard from Toronto, Canada, joins the Raiders after spending his freshman season at Stephen F. Austin and he comes to Wright State after previously being ranked the third-best overall recruit in Ontario as a prep player at Polaris Prep.

“Dominic is a perfect fit for how we play,” Sargent said. “He has great size and versatility. He has feel for the game and makes things easier for everyone around him. I believe he has a very bright future and has the ability to make a significant jump playing in our system.”

Pangonis played in 31 games in 2024-25 for Stephen F. Austin, averaging 21.4 minutes per contest as a freshman. He averaged 6.2 points per game while shooting 45.0 percent overall and 27.0 percent from three-point range, tallying six double-digit scoring games with a season-high 17 points against Houston Christian in early January. Pangonis recorded five or more points in 22 of his 31 games, while he shot 50 percent or higher in 19 contests. He grabbed multiple rebounds in 16 contests while averaging just under two boards per game.

Pangonis was tabbed as the 46th-best guard in his class and was listed as the third-best overall recruit in Ontario when he was coming out of Polaris Prep in 2023-24. There, he averaged 20 points per game and shot 52 percent overall from the field while also averaging five assists and six rebounds per game. Pangonis played high school basketball in Toronto, where his accomplishments included being named All-Canadian and a NPA First Team All-Canadian performer.

Pangonis becomes the second transfer addition to the Wright State roster, joining the signing of Bryan Etumnu from earlier in the week.
