Sky Deutschland and the NHL extend their partnership long-term: The German stars and the best ice hockey players in the world live on Sky Sport
- Sky Sport will continue to be the exclusive home to 300 games per season live
- Hans Gabbe: “Leon Draisaitl, Moritz Seider, Tim Stützle: with Sky Sport, ice hockey fans can continue to follow the German stars and the quest for the Stanley Cup live in the coming years”
- During the regular season and the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, Sky Sport will continue to broadcast at least one game live every day and will also offer summaries and highlight formats
- The agreement includes broadcasting via all distribution channels in Germany and Austria
Unterföhring, 19. May 2025 – Sky Deutschland has renewed its media rights agreement and will remain the ‘Home of the National Hockey League (NHL)’ in Germany and Austria. Fans of the best ice hockey league in the world can continue to look forward to more than 300 live games per season, which Sky Sport will broadcast exclusively.
As in the past four years, Sky Sport will broadcast at least one live match per day throughout the NHL season, including regular-season games, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Final. Sky Sport will also deliver live broadcasts of the NHL Winter Classic and the NHL Global Series games. In addition, Sky Sport will continue to regularly show NHL Saturday and NHL Sunday game broadcasts which are scheduled at European evening times in consideration of international ice hockey fans. Select games will continue to be accompanied by German commentary. All games will also be offered with the original U.S. commentary.

In addition to the live games, Sky Sport will also offer game highlights summaries and the NHL produced highlight show, “On the Fly.”
All NHL broadcasts on Sky Sport can be received on the Sky Stream TV platform. The prerequisite for this is the Sky Sport package (sky.de/stream). With WOW, fans can experience Sky’s sports broadcasts flexibly (wowtv.de). The streaming service offers the best live sport from Sky Sport at attractive conditions.
The broadcasting rights apply to all distribution channels in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and South Tyrol and also include the rights for public screenings in restaurants, hotels and other establishments open to the public, which are offered via Sky Business.
