Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the organization’s minor league award winners for April:

Player of the Month – INF Blaine Crim

Starting Pitcher of the Month – RHP David Davalillo

Reliever of the Month – RHP Cole Winn

Defender of the Month – OF Alejandro Osuna

Crim, 27, batted .313/.365/.565/.930 (36-115) with 7 home runs, one triple, 6 doubles, 25 RBI, and 17 runs scored in 28 games for Round Rock (AAA) through the end of April. The Mobile, Ala. native ranked among Pacific Coast League leaders in HR (T1st), TB (2nd, 65), H (T3rd), RBI (T5th), SLG (7th), and OPS (10th) in the first month of the season. He was named PCL Player of the Week for March 31-April 6, hitting .520 (13-25) with 6 extra-base hits (1 HR, 1 3B, 4 2B) in the Express’ 6-game series vs. Toledo that week. Crim has now been tabbed as the Rangers Minor League Player of the Month in three consecutive seasons, also earning the distinction in July 2023 and July 2024.

The right-handed-hitting infielder had his contract selected by Texas on May 2 and made his Major League debut the same day vs. the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Field as the club’s starting first baseman. Crim, who received the True Ranger Award in 2023 for representing the core values of the organization on and off the field, was originally selected by Texas in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from Mississippi College. He leads all Rangers farmhands in home runs (110), hits (668), RBI (420), and doubles (130) since making his professional debut in 2019.

The 22-year-old Davalillo posted a 1-0 record with a 1.10 ERA (2 ER/16.1 IP), 26 strikeouts, a 0.80 WHIP, and a .138 (8-58) opponent batting average across 4 April starts with High-A Hub City, ranking 4th in the South Atlantic League (min. 4 GS in April) with a 14.33 strikeouts-per-9.0 innings figure during the month. He earned SAL Pitcher of the Week honors (April 14-20) for his performance on April 18 vs. Bowling Green in which he tossed 5.0 no-hit innings with no walks and 9 strikeouts. Currently ranked as the no. 29 prospect in the Rangers system by MLB Pipeline, Davalillo sports a 2.16 ERA (37 ER/154.1 IP) across 39 career games/29 starts since joining the organization as a minor league free agent on 6/7/22.

Winn, 25, went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA (17.2 IP), 18 strikeouts, a 0.85 WHIP, and a .169 (10-59) opponent batting average in his first 8 appearances of the season (all relief) from March 30-April 26. The right-hander was the only Pacific Coast League pitcher to log 15.0-or-more innings without yielding an earned run through the end of April. He worked 2.0-or-more innings in 7 of those 8 relief outings and recorded 2-or-more strikeouts in all but one of his March/April appearances, ranking T10th among PCL relievers in punchouts during the season’s first month. A former first-round selection by Texas in the 2018 MLB Draft from Orange Lutheran (Calif.) High School, Winn was the organization’s Nolan Ryan Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2021 and made his Major League debut with the Rangers in 2024.

Osuna, the club’s Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year in 2024, was perfect in his 67 total chances across 20 starts in centerfield and 2 starts in leftfield for Double-A Frisco in April. The 22-year-old played 176.0 errorless innings in centerfield last month, the highest total without an error by any Texas League centerfielder. Osuna, who is ranked as the no. 7 prospect in the Texas system by MLB Pipeline, received his first Major League Spring Training invite this year, hitting .429 (15-35) in 24 Cactus League games with the Rangers. This marks the left-handed-hitting outfielder’s second Defender of the Month honor, as he also earned the distinction in May 2024.
