Right-handed pitcher David Festa recalled from Triple-A St. Paul

 

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Pablo López on the 15-day Injured List (retroactive to April 9) with a right hamstring strain.

López, who was removed from his start on April 8 at Kansas City in the fifth inning with the injury, has gone 1-1 with a 1.62 ERA (16.2 IP, 3 ER), two walks, 14 strikeouts and a 1.02 WHIP in three starts for the Twins this season.

To replace López on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher David Festa from Triple-A St. Paul. Festa has made two starts for the Saints this season, going 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA (8.1 IP, 5 ER), two walks and eight strikeouts. The 25-year-old made his major league debut on June 27, 2024 and combined to go 5-9 with a 4.48 ERA (124.2 IP, 62 ER), 49 walks, 166 strikeouts and a .248 opponent batting average in 29 games (28 starts) last season between St. Paul and Minnesota. Festa is scheduled to make the start tonight against the Detroit Tigers at Target Field.
