Chicago White Sox place Andrew Benintendi on 10-day injured list; recall Greg Jones from Triple-A Charlotte

CLEVELAND – Prior to tonight’s game at Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Andrew Benintendi on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 7) with a left adductor strain and recalled outfielder Greg Jones from Class AAA Charlotte.

Jones, 27, has played nine games with Charlotte in 2025, going 4-31 (.129) with a double, homer, five RBI and four stolen bases. He was claimed by the White Sox off waivers from Colorado on March 26.

Jones, 6-foot, 175 pounds, made his major-league debut with the Rockies last season, hitting .200 (1-5) with a home run and RBI over six games. The switch-hitting Jones will wear jersey No. 30.

Benintendi, 30, left the game on April 6 at Detroit in the fifth inning. He is hitting .290/.333/.464 (9-31) with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored over nine games this season, his third with the White Sox.
