Crew gets scoreless tie, a point as Youngest Players perform well against New York City FC

Match Notes:

  • The Crew drew 1-1 against New York City FC at Lower.com Field on Saturday, March 22.
    • The Black & Gold are 2-0-3 in MLS play. It’s the third time in Club history the Club is unbeaten through their first five matches (2010 and 2020).
    • Columbus holds a 10-7-7 record against New York City FC in regular season play, including an unbeaten record (3-0-2) at Lower.com Field  after the venue opened in 2021.
    • Over the last 53 home matches across all competitions since 2023, the Black & Gold have won 33 and only lost five contests (15 draws).
  • Columbus Crew 2 defender Cesar Ruvalcaba made his First Team debut and became the first Crew 2 player to start a match for the First Team.
  • Columbus Crew 2 midfielder Tristan Brown made his MLS debut, entering as a substitute in the 73rd minute.
    • Brown is the second-youngest player to make their MLS debut with the Crew First Team (17 years, 5 Months, 3 Days).
  • Brown and Ruvalcaba become the third and fourth Crew 2 players to make MLS appearances for the First Team (forward Jacen Russell-Rowe and defender Mohamed Farsi in 2022).
  • Midfielder Cole Mrowka made his first MLS appearance of the season.
  • Goalkeeper Evan Bush earned his first clean sheet of 2025 and 43rd career MLS.
  • Tonight’s attendance was a sell-out 20,235.
