COLUMBUS, Ohio – The NCAA selected the No. 15/13 Ohio State women’s basketball team (25-6, 13-5 B1G) as a No. 4 seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament as the full bracket of teams was announced on Sunday night. The tournament will feature 68 total teams.
The Buckeyes will face No. 13 seed Montana State in the first round on Friday with the time and TV network to be determined. No. 5 seed Tennessee and No. 12 seed South Florida will face each other in the other first round game.
- This is the Buckeyes’ 15th time hosting at least one game of the NCAA Tournament and the third-consecutive year. This is the 16th time Ohio State has been selected as a top-four seed.
- This is Ohio State’s 29th NCAA Tournament appearance as the Buckeyes hold a 32-28 record in the NCAA Tournament. This record reflects wins from select seasons later vacated by the NCAA.
- Last season, Ohio State earned its first No. 2 seed since the 2010 NCAA Tournament. The Buckeyes beat No. 15 seed Maine in the first round by an 80-57 margin before falling to No. 7 seed Duke in the second round by a 75-63 margin.
- Last week in the Big Ten Tournament, the Buckeyes beat RV/- Iowa by a 60-59 margin in the quarterfinals before falling to No. 4 and eventual tournament champion UCLA by a 75-46 margin in the semifinals.
- Ohio State holds a 25-6 overall record this season and finished third in the Big Ten with a 13-5 conference record.
