91 winter sport student-athletes recognized
The 103 Ohio State winter sport athletes join a school-record 147 Buckeyes from fall sports who were honored in December. Winter sports include men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, men’s hockey, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and wrestling. Spring and at-large sports selections will be announced in May. Ohio State was one of just four B1G schools with at least 90 winter sport honorees.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list as of March 1 for winter sports), have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The men’s swimming and diving program led the Ohio State winter sports with 17 honorees, followed by men’s hockey and women’s swimming and diving program with 16 each. Men’s gymnastics, women’s gymnastics and wrestling each had 11, men’s basketball had five selections and women’s basketball had four.
