The Buckeyes and Bobcats face each other for the first time in program history on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 15/13 Ohio State women’s basketball team (25-6, 13-5 B1G) enters the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed and will face No. 13 seeded Montana State (30-3, 17-1 Big Sky) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and 1460AM.

  • Ohio State earned a No. 4 seed in the 2025 Tournament in the Birmingham region. This is the Buckeyes’ third consecutive season earning a top four seed and the opportunity to host the first two rounds.
  • This is Ohio State’s 29th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Buckeyes have a 32-28 all-time record in the big dance.
  • This is the 16th time in program history that OSU has been selected as a top four seed and 15th time hosting at least one game in Columbus.
  • Ohio State enters the NCAA Tournament with a 25-6 overall record and a 13-5 Big Ten record. The Buckeyes reached the Big Ten Tournament semifinals as the No. 3 seed before falling to eventual tournament champion UCLA.
  • No. 13 seed Montana State enters the NCAA Tournament with a 30-3 overall record and a 17-1 mark in Big Sky play. The Bobcats won the conference tournament championship by defeating Montana by a 58-57 margin on a buzzer-beating second chance basket.
  • The Bobcats’ season includes a 19-game win streak spanning from Dec. 16 to Feb. 27.
  • Montana State is averaging 72.5 points per game this season, while limiting opponents to just 55.5 ppg (16th ranked scoring defense in the country). Esmeralda Morales (15.3) and Marah Dykstra (12.5) lead the Bobcats’ scoring efforts.
  • The Bobcats lead the country in steals per game (14.6) and are fifth in the nation in forced turnovers per game (23.7)
  • This is the first meeting in the all-time series between Ohio State and Montana State.
