The Longhorns will face No. 11 seed Xavier in the NCAA First Four on Wednesday, March 19 at approximately 8:10 p.m. CT on truTV.

DAYTON, Ohio — The tip-off time for The University of Texas’ NCAA First Four contest on Wednesday, March 19 has been set for approximately 8:10 p.m. Central (9:10 p.m. Eastern), CBS Sports and Turner Sports announced Sunday night. The Longhorns (19-15, 6-12 Big 12), the No. 11 seed in the Midwest Region, will face No. 11 seed Xavier (21-11, 13-7 BIG EAST) at the University of Dayton Arena, and the game will be televised nationally by truTV.

Should Texas win its First Four contest against Xavier, the Longhorns would advance to play No. 6 seed Illinois in the NCAA First Round on Friday, March 21 in Milwaukee, Wis. Tip time has been set for Friday’s game in Fiserv Forum at approximately 8:45 p.m. Central (9:45 p.m. Eastern), and the contest will be televised nationally by CBS.

This marks the fifth-straight and 39th overall appearance by the Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament. UT will make its 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 26 seasons (not including the 2021 postseason which was canceled due to COVID-19) and is just one of seven schools nationally to appear in at least 23 of the last 26 NCAA tourneys. The Longhorns also are one of just six schools to appear in at least 31 of the last 36 NCAA Tournaments.

Texas will be making its fifth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament (2021-22-23-24-25), the longest streak for the Longhorns since UT made 14-straight NCAA tourney appearances from 1999-2012. The Longhorns will be attempting to win their opening NCAA Tournament contest for the fourth consecutive season, as Texas reached the NCAA Second Round in 2022, the NCAA Elite Eight in 2023 and the NCAA Second Round in 2024. This would mark the longest such streak for the Longhorns since UT won at least one NCAA tourney contest in four-straight seasons from 2006-09 (2006 Elite Eight, 2007 Second Round, 2008 Elite Eight, 2009 Second Round).
