BOISE, Idaho (Mar. 13, 2025) – The Montana Grizzlies won the 2025 Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship on Wednesday night at Idaho Central Arena, avenging their loss in the same game a season ago.

The Griz defeated Northern Colorado, who they shared Co-Regular Season Champion honors with. Montana won 91-83. This will be UM’s first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 2018-19.

On Wednesday the Griz were led by Kai Johnson, who shot 7-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Montana’s Brandon Whitney was named Tournament MVP after three consecutive impressive appearances.
