Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns fired Men’s Basketball coach Bob Marlin during season

University of Louisiana Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard announced on December 19, it was necessary to make a change in the Men’s Basketball Program with the firing of head coach Bob Marlin after 15 seasons.

Marlin was hired in 2010. He finished with a 269-198 record with the Cajuns.

At the time of his firing, the Ragin’ Cajuns were (3-9, 1-0 SBC). The season started with a 7-game losing streak.

“After an on-going evaluation of our men’s basketball program, it was decided a change was necessary,” UL Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Bryan Maggard said in a press release. “These decisions are never easy, and this one was not made hastily. I am extremely grateful for the leadership Bob Marlin has provided the past several years. We wish he and his family all the best moving forward.”

His 15-year coaching career at UL, Marlin had a 266-189 coaching record and a 614-355 overall coaching record in his 31 years of coaching.
