INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indianapolis freshman forward DeSean Goode has been voted to the #HLMBB All-Freshman Team as the league office announced all-league honorees on Monday (Mar. 3). Goode was one of five rookies voted to the All-Freshman Team by the league’s coaches.

Goode, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 7.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor, 36 percent from three and 69.3 percent from the foul line. He was a three-time #HLMBB Freshman of Week honoree and was tops among league freshmen in double-doubles (4) and rebounding (6.0 rpg). In league play, he increased his output to 8.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Goode took over a full-time starting role at the start of the calendar year, starting 14 straight games before an injury ended his season on Feb. 27. He scored in double-digits nine times, including a career-high 23 points in the road win at Youngstown State on Feb. 1.

His first double-double came in the Horizon League opening win over Green Bay on Dec. 4 as he finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. He later notched double-doubles against Detroit Mercy (15 pts, 13 reb), Purdue Fort Wayne (10 pts, 10 reb) and Milwaukee (11 pts, 12 reb).

In addition to Goode’s award, junior Sean Craig was named among the finalists for the league’s Sportsmanship Award, as nominated by the IU Indy coaching staff.
