  • Justin Danforth (6-8-14, 39 GP) scored and assisted (1-1-2) for his third multi-point effort of the season in his first career outdoor game.  It was his first game-winning goal of the season and third of his NHL career.

BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets earned a victory in their outdoor game debut, 5-3, over the Red Wings.  It’s the league’s 43rd regular season outdoor contest in NHL history.
  • Columbus finished the 2024-25 season series against Detroit with a 2-1-0 record after tonight’s win.
  • The Jackets have score five or more goals in four-straight wins out of the 4 Nations Face-Off break (21 total).  It’s the longest stretch of games with five-plus goals in franchise history, surpassing the three consecutive from Feb. 25-Mar. 1, 2001 (15 total goals).
  • CBJ improved to 8-1-1 in the last 10 home games.  The team has recorded points in 15 of the past 17 home contests (12-2-3) as well as 20 of the last 23 played at home (16-3-4).
  • The Blue Jackets are 20-6-4 (44 points) at home in 2024-25, posting the most points and second-most wins (21, 2016-17) through the first 30 homes games of a single season in CBJ history.
  • The club has recorded 201 goals (not including SO goals) through 60 games this season.  It’s the most in franchise history through 60 games played, surpassing the 197 scored in the 2016-17 season.
  • Columbus has scored goals in 124-of-the-178 periods played in regulation this year after scoring three times in the second period and twice in the third.  The club has registered multiple goals in 55 periods in 2024-25.
  • Columbus scored first for the 37th time this season (23-9-5) and for the eighth time in the last 13 contests.
  • CBJ blueliners have tallied 40-112-152 this season after posting 1-3-4 tonight.
  • Tonight’s attendance at Ohio Stadium was a crowd of 94,751, the second-largest crowd for an outdoors game in NHL history (105,491 in 2014 Winter Classic between Toronto and Detroit on Jan. 1, 2014).
