#12 Ohio State Wraps Up Regular Season Sunday at #19 Maryland, 4:30 PM

The Buckeyes and Terrapins meet for the second time this season in a ranked matchup on Sunday in College Park.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/12 Ohio State women’s basketball team (24-4, 13-4 B1G) wraps up the regular season on Sunday at No. 19/17 Maryland (22-6, 12-5 B1G). Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on FS1 and AM1460.

  • Ohio State earned its fourth ranked win of the season on Wednesday in an 89-78 decision against No. 23/22 Michigan State. With the win, the Buckeyes completed the regular season undefeated at home for the first time since the 2011-12 season. OSU scored 50+ first half points for the second consecutive game.
  • Jaloni Cambridge scored a career-high 33 points – the most by a Buckeye freshman since Kelsey Mitchell in 2015. Cambridge also made a career-high five three-pointers.
  • Ajae Petty shot 11-of-11 from the floor, becoming the first Buckeye since Tori McCoy on Dec. 7, 2016 to shoot 1.000 with at least 10 field goals made. She was also the first Buckeye to record 15 rebounds since Dorka Juhasz on Jan. 25, 2021.
  • J. Cambridge was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday for the third time this season. She was also named USBWA Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
  • No. 19/17 Maryland enters the game with a 22-6 record and is 12-5 in conference play. The Terrapins are coming off a 74-60 win against Indiana on Thursday.
  • Since facing OSU in January, UMD has earned wins against Penn State, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Northwestern and Indiana and lost to then No. 1 UCLA, Illinois and Nebraska.
  • Kaylene Smikle (17.6), Shyanne Sellers (14.3) and Saylor Poffenbarger (10.2) are all averaging double figures. Poffenbarger also leads the team with 8.0 rebounds per game.
  • Ohio State trails 15-9 in the all-time series against Maryland after having to vacate a pair of wins due to later NCAA rulings. The Terrapins have the 8-3 advantage in the series when playing in College Park.
  • This is the second time the teams have met this season with the Buckeyes previously earning a 74-66 win in Columbus on Jan. 23.
