ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Winners of five straight games, the 20th-ranked University of Michigan men’s basketball team (19-5, 11-2 Big Ten) is headed to Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday (Feb. 16) for a match-up with Ohio State (15-10, 7-7 Big Ten) at Value City Arena. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip on CBS with Spero Dedes and Jim Spanarkel on the call.

Notes

• Michigan heads into the battle at Ohio State on a five-game winning streak.

• The Maize and Blue head to Columbus fresh off a 75-73 win over No. 7 Purdue — U-M’s first win over a top-10 team since the 2022 NCAA Tournament second round win over No. 5 Tennessee (W, 76-68). U-M has gone 4-2 against the top 25 this season. During the streak, all five victories have been decided for four or fewer points.

• U-M has 12 games (8-4) decided by four or fewer points — nine (8-1) in B1G play.

• Rubin Jones was inserted into the starting lineup at Indiana, replacing Roddy Gayle Jr. May’s move is intended to allow Gayle to be a spark off the bench and command U-M’s second unit.

• A win in Columbus would give U-M its 20th win — the 32nd in program history and first since the 2020-21 season. The Wolverines won the Big Ten (14-3) and finished with a 23-5 record during the COVID-19 season.

• Danny Wolf — the only Big Ten player to average a double-double (12.8 ppg, 10.0 rpg) — has 44 rebounds (11.0 rpg) over his last four games: 14 at Rutgers, 12 against Oregon, and nine at Indiana and Purdue. He has 13 games with 10-plus and leads the Big Ten with 10 double-doubles.

• Tre Donaldson has produced a team-best 20 games in double figures, including his last eight straight games. He averages 12.7 points per game, nearly doubling his prior best of 6.7 last season at Auburn. This season, Donaldson has set new career bests in every statistical category.

• U-M is shooting 49.1 percent, ranking third in the Big Ten and 16th nationally. Vladislav Goldin‘s 63.9 percent ranks second in the Big Ten (Indiana’s Oumar Ballo, 64.6 percent) and eighth nationally.

• Goldin leads U-M with 133 free throw attempts, which is 47 more than the next Wolverine (Wolf, 86).

• With at least three assists in 21 games, Donaldson reached 100 assists for the second straight season. Last season at Auburn, he had 112 assists (3.2 apg). Behind Donaldson is Wolf, who ranks second with 86 assists (3.6 apg) and has 14 games with at least three helpers.

• U-M has 12 games with 10-plus three-pointers, including a tying the program record with 19 against Western Kentucky. Donaldson (47; 42.0 percent) and Nimari Burnett (47; 42.7 percent) are tied for the team lead from long range.

• After a three-game stretch going 2-for-14 (14.2 percent) from long range, Burnett has returned to his consistent form going 7-for-17 (41.2 percent) in the last three games — Oregon, at Indiana and Purdue.
