Xavier Men’s Basketball Opens Two-Game Homestand today with 12 Noon Matinee against DePaul

CINCINNATI— The Xavier University Musketeers, 15-10 overall and 7-7 in the BIG EAST Conference, open a two-game homestand on Saturday at noon at Cintas Center vs. the DePaul University Blue Demons, 11-14 overall and 2-12 in the BIG EAST. Xavier is coming off a 91-82 win at Providence on Wednesday.

Graduate student Dante Maddox Jr. led Xavier in the win at Providence on Feb. 12, tying his collegiate highs for points (26) and 3-point field goals (six). This marked his second-straight 20-point game coming on the heels of a 24-point effort at Villanova on Feb. 9.

• Xavier is second in the BIG EAST and 13th in the nation in free throw percentage at .786 after a 26-29 (.897) effort at Providence. XU has four players ranked in the top 15 in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage: Dailyn Swain

(fourth at .839), Ryan Conwell (fifth at .808), Dayvion McKnight (10th at .778) and Zach Freemantle (12th at .750).
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in fastbreak points (11th in the nation in at 15.7 ppg.) and is second in free throw percentage (13th in the nation at .786) and 3-point percentage (14th in the nation at .390). Xavier hit 13-27 (.481) 3-pointers at Providence on Wednesday. XU is third in the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.41) and assists per game (16.4 apg.).

• Xavier graduate student Zach Freemantle leads the team in scoring (fifth in the BIG EAST at 16.9 ppg.) and rebounding (fourth in the BIG EAST at 7.1 rpg.). He is fourth in the BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 5.3 drpg. Freemantle has scored in double figures in every game he has played this season (22) and has an active double-figure scoring streak of 23 games.
• Xavier sophomore Dailyn Swain, who has scored in double figures in 10 of the last 13 games, has averaged 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game over the last seven games. Swain, who is averaging 11.1 ppg. and 5.4 rpg. in BIG EAST play, is fourth in the BIG EAST Conference in free throw percentage at .839.
• Xavier junior Ryan Conwell is second on the team and eighth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 15.6 ppg. Conwell ranks fourth in the BIG EAST at 2.8 3-point field goals made per game. His 69 3-pointers made rank fourth in the BIG EAST and 52nd in the nation.
• Xavier graduate student Marcus Foster

posted his first double-double as a Musketeer with 17 points and an XU career-high 13 rebounds vs. Georgetown on Feb. 4. Foster, who is third on the team in rebounding (4.8 rpg.), has snagged a team-high 7.1 rpg. over the last seven games.
• Xavier graduate student Dayvion McKnight leads XU in assists at 4.4 apg. (eighth in the BIG EAST) and is fifth in the BIG EAST and 46th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.52. He is 10th in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage at .778.
