COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State had one of its best shooting half of this season in the opening 20 minutes and added on in the second half for a dominant 93-69 victory over Washington on Monday night.

The Buckeyes are now 15-10 on the season and even their record in Big Ten play at 7-7.

Micah Parrish was coming off a career high 30 points on Sunday and continued his pace as he scored a game-high tying 21 points to go along with a game-high tying seven rebounds. Freshman John Mobley Jr. made five three-pointers for the second consecutive game and matched Parrish with 21 points.

Bruce Thornton was 8-of-9 from the free throw line and finished with 17 points, right on his season average, and dished out a game-high five assists.

Sean Stewart also pulled down seven rebounds to go along with six points and two big blocks. Evan Mahaffey had another “Evan Mahaffey” type game as he was 2-of-2 from the floor and also had two assists, two steals and two blocks.

The defense Ohio State played on Washington’s Great Osobor was also key. Osobor finished with just eight points and six rebounds, both well below his season average and he also had three turnovers.

The Buckeyes made seven of their first nine three-point attempts in the first half and ended up shooting 66.7 percent (20-of-30) from the floor in the first half. That helped them build as much as an 18-point lead and would lead 51-36 at the break. Parrish had 14 points and five rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

Ohio State scored the first four points of the second half and Washington would never threaten.  The OSU lead grew to 30 points after a 7-0 run late in the game. The 24-point margin of victory was the largest against a Big Ten opponent in nearly three years.
