COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State hits the road for a super big showdown on a super big Sunday as the Buckeyes will play at Nebraska in a game with NCAA bubble implications. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on BTN. Kevin Kugler and Shon Morris will call the action.

The game can also be heard on the Ohio State Radio Network from Learfield. Paul Keels and former Buckeye captain Ron Stokes are on the call.

  • The Buckeyes are 21-7 all-time against Nebraska and 17-5 since the Cornhuskers joined the
  • Big Ten Conference prior to the 2011-12 season. Nebraska had won three consecutive games before the Buckeyes won the second meeting last season.
  • All-time, the Buckeyes are 8-4 in Lincoln and 5-3 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
  • Last year, the teams split their two meetings with each winning on their home court. Reink Mast scored a career-high 34 points to lead the Cornhuskers to an 83-69 victory in Lincoln. Then Jamison Battle led the Buckeyes with a season-high 32 points in a 78-69 victory in Columbus. The game in Columbus last year was the only game that Bruce Thornton has missed in his career as he didn’t play due to a migraine.
  • The Buckeyes are playing on Super Bowl Sunday for the seventh time and they are 3-3 in the previous six occurrences. In each of the Buckeyes three wins on the day of the big game, the NFC team has won the game. Let’s do this, Eagles!!
  • Ohio State is coming off its best home win of the season as they erased a 17-point deficit and came back to beat No. 18 Maryland 73-70 on Thursday night. That was the biggest come-from-behind victory for the Buckeyes since erasing a 20-point hole in a 71-62 win over rival Michigan on Dec. 4, 2017.
  • Bruce Thornton was simply amazing down the stretch against Maryland, scoring 21 of his game-high 31 points in the second half. He also outscored Maryland 17-9 by himself over the final seven minutes. He banked-in a three-pointer with seven seconds remaining to provide the final margin.
  • The Buckeyes have won four of the last five and Thornton has been great in those five. He’s averaging 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting over 58 percent (17-of-29)from long range in the five games.
  • Devin Royal has also been key in the Buckeyes’ recent stretch of good play. He is the team’s leading rebounder and has grabbed more than eight per game over the last five games. He’s also shooting over 55 percent from the floor and averaging 15.8 ppg in that stretch.
  • Nebraska lost six consecutive games but has since won its last three, including a win over Illinois and sweeping its west coast trip to Washington and Oregon. Brice Williams has been great this season, averaging 19.2 ppg, which is fourth-best in the conference.
