Xavier will play its next two games on the road.

 

CINCINNATI — The Xavier University Musketeers, 14-9 overall and 6-6 in the BIG EAST Conference, visit the Villanova University Wildcats, 13-10 overall and 6-6 in the BIG EAST, this weekend in Philadelphia. The game will tip off at noon on Sunday at Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Xavier’s game vs. Villanova is the first of two-straight road games. XU plays at Providence on Wednesday night.

• Xavier, 14-9 overall and 6-6 in the BIG EAST Conference, plays the first of two-straight road games at Villanova on Feb. 9. XU plays at Providence on Feb. 12.
• Xavier graduate student Marcus Foster posted his first double-double as a Musketeer with 17 points and a Xavier career-high 13 rebounds in the Georgetown win. Foster, who is third on the team in rebounding at 4.9 rpg., has snagged a team-high 8.2 rpg. over the last five games.

• Xavier sophomore Dailyn Swain, who is coming off a career-high 18-point game vs.
Georgetown, has averaged 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game over the last five games. Swain, who is averaging 11.6 ppg. and 5.6 rpg. in BIG EAST play, is fourth in the BIG EAST Conference free throw percentage at .835.
• Xavier graduate student Zach Freemantle leads the team in scoring (sixth in the BIG EAST at 16.5 ppg.) and rebounding (fourth in the BIG EAST at 7.2 rpg.). He is third in the BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 5.5 drpg. Freemantle has scored in double figures in every game he has played this season (20) and has an active double-figure scoring streak of 21 games.
• Xavier junior Ryan Conwell, who had a team-high 20 points at Creighton, is second on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.0 ppg. Conwell, who had four 3-pointers in each of XU’s last two road games (at St. John’s and at Creighton), ranks fourth in the BIG EAST and 48th in the nation at 2.9 3-point field goals made per game. His 66 3-pointers made rank fourth in the BIG EAST and 41st in the nation.
• Xavier graduate student Dayvion McKnight leads XU in assists at 4.6 apg. (eighth in the BIG EAST) and is third in the BIG EAST and 35th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.72. He is 11th in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage at .785.
• Xavier is third in the BIG EAST and 17th in the nation in free throw percentage at .782. XU has four players ranked in the top 15 in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage: Dailyn Swain (fourth at .835), Ryan Conwell (fifth at .820), Dayvion McKnight (11th at .785) and Zach
Freemantle 
(14th at .750).
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in fastbreak points (ninth in the nation in at 16.0 ppg.) and is second in 3-point percentage (17th in the nation at .383). XU is third in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage (17th in the nation at .782), assist-to-turnover ratio (51st in the nation at 1.43) and assists per game (36th in the nation at 16.5 apg.).
