FAIRBORN, Ohio – The IU Indianapolis men’s basketball team will traipse into enemy territory on Saturday (Feb. 8) to take on Wright State (12-13, 6-8 HL) at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+. The Jaguars (8-17, 4-10 HL) look for a first win at the Nutter Center since joining the Horizon League while the Raiders are looking to avoid a two-game skid.
Most recently, the Jaguars added another near miss to its collection with an 84-80 overtime loss to Milwaukee inside the Jungle on Wednesday night. Both teams had an opportunity to score the winner in regulation before Milwaukee ultimately captured the win by scoring the final seven points of the game in overtime. Junior Sean Craig put the Jaguars ahead 80-77 with a three with 2:19 to play before the Panthers pitched a shutout from there.
Paul Zilinskas scored a game-high 25 points, including three threes, and Alec Millender contributed 13 points, six assists and four rebounds. Freshman DeSean Goode added his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Craig finished in double-digits with 12 points.
Jamichael Stillwell paced Milwaukee with 17 points and 14 rebounds and Erik Pratt also scored 17 points off the bench.
Head coach Paul Corsaro‘s team turned the ball over just six times against a relentless Milwaukee defense, earning a 23-8 edge in points off turnovers. However, Milwaukee won the glass by a 49-33 margin and outscored the Jaguars 54-40 in the paint. In addition, Milwaukee closed with a 40-11 margin in bench points as an undermanned Jaguar squad played just eight players.
