TUESDAY: Miami travels north for a conference contest against Central Michigan at McGuirk Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Entering this game, Miami ranks fourth nationally in effective field goal percentage (0.581), fifth in three-point percentage (.395), tenth in field goal percentage (.494), 14th in threes per game (10.4), 27th in scoring offense (82.3), 33rd in turnovers forced per game (15.00) and 40th in turnover margin (2.9). Miami also leads the MAC in seven statistical categories, including steals per game (8.7).

RECENT ACTION: Peter Suder scored a team-high 15 points, while Kam Craft and Evan Ipsaro each added 14 points as the Miami University men’s basketball team edged past Ohio 73-69 Saturday afternoon. Miami’s bench scored 35 points, in comparison to the 13 points scored by Ohio’s bench. Antwone Woolfolk rejected a game-high three blocks and Ipsaro led all players with four assists. The RedHawks are off to their best start in MAC play since the 1998-99 season.

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: Central Michigan is coming off an 18-14 (12-6 MAC) season in 2023-24. Head coach Tony Barbee is in his fourth season with the Chippewas. Heading into the 2024-25 season, the MAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll picked the Chippewas to finish eighth in the conference. Anthony Pritchard was a First Team Preseason All-MAC selection.

Central Michigan is currently 10-11 (4-5 MAC), having won its last game against Bowling Green at home 90-71. Central Michigan’s top scorers include Jakobi Heady (13.4), Ugnius Jarusevicius (13.2), Pritchard (13.1) and Kyler VanderJagt (11.8). Heady also leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per game and Jarusevicius follows closely behind (6.6). Pritchard leads the team in both assists (4.7) and steals (2.3) per game.

THE SERIES WITH THE CHIPPEWAS: Tuesday will mark the 84th time Miami and Central Michigan have faced off. The RedHawks head into this game leading the series 57-26. Miami has the advantage at Central Michigan, 27-15. The last time Miami faced off with the Chippewas, the Red and White won 88-60 in Oxford.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks host Troy University on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m., as part of the MAC/Sun Belt Challenge.
