CINCINNATI — The Xavier University Musketeers, 13-8 overall and 5-5 in the BIG EAST Conference, travel to Omaha, Neb., for a Wednesday clash with the Creighton University Bluejays, 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the BIG EAST, at 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET). Xavier is coming off a win over then-No. 19 UConn on Saturday, while Creighton won its fifth-straight game with a win over Seton Hall on Saturday.

This is the first meeting between Xavier and Creighton this season. XU and CU meet again in Cincinnati on March 1.

• Xavier, 13-8 overall and 5-5 in the BIG EAST Conference, is coming off a 76-72 win over No. 19 UConn on Saturday, XU’s second straight Saturday with a Top 20 win. XU won 59-57 at No. 7 Marquette on Jan. 18. In between on Jan. 22, XU lost in overtime at No. 20 St. John’s.

• Xavier’s bench stepped up in the UConn win on Saturday as graduate students Dante Maddox Jr. (14) and Jerome Hunter (12) combined for 26 points. XU got only two bench points in the overtime loss at St. John’s on Jan. 22.
• Xavier sophomore Dailyn Swain averaged 14.3 points (tied for the team lead), 5.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, while shooting 63.0 percent (17-27) from the field and 100 percent (9-9) from the free throw line, in the just completed “Top 25” three-game stretch at Marquette, at St. John’s and vs. UConn. He had a career-high 16 points and a career-high tying five assists vs. SJU at Madison Square Garden.
• Xavier’s Dailyn Swain, who is averaging 11.0 ppg. and 5.5 rpg. in BIG EAST play, is fifth in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage at .576 and fifth in free throw percentage at .836.
• Xavier graduate student Zach Freemantle leads the team in scoring (sixth in the BIG EAST at 16.5 ppg.) and rebounding (fourth in the BIG EAST at 7.4 rpg.). He is third in the BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 5.8 drpg. Freemantle has scored in double figures in every game he has played this season (18) and has an active double-figure scoring streak of 19 games.
• Xavier junior Ryan Conwell, who had a game-high 21 points at St. John’s, is second on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.1 ppg. Conwell, who had four 3-pointers at St. John’s, ranks third in the BIG EAST and 44th in the nation at 2.9 3-point field goals made per game. His 61 3-pointers made is second in the BIG EAST and 27th in the nation.
• Xavier graduate student Dayvion McKnight leads XU in assists at 4.8 apg. (sixth in the BIG EAST) and is third in the BIG EAST and 17th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.16. He is 14th in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage at .779.

• Xavier is third in the BIG EAST and 17th in the nation in free throw percentage at .781. XU has three players ranked in the top 15 in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage: Dailyn Swain (fifth at .836), Ryan Conwell (sixth at .827) and Dayvion McKnight (14th at .779).
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in fastbreak points (ninth in the nation in at 16.7 ppg.) and is second in 3-point percentage (21st in the nation at .383). XU is third in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage (17th in the nation at .781), assist-to-turnover ratio (47th in the nation at 1.45) and assists per game (35th in the nation at 16.7 apg.).
